Rehab Loan Program
If you live in Davidson County, there may be grant money available to you through the Homeownership Preservation Effort (HoPE) program. This program provides funds to help rehabilitate homes of elderly and disabled low-income persons in Nashville.
The program is a partnership of the Mayor's Office of Affordable Housing, Nashville Housing Fund and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA), which defines that program as follows: Metro wants to help lower income homeowners preserve their investments in their homes, neighborhoods, and community, and do this by a grant program using volunteer labor to help rehabilitate and preserve affordable homes.
For certain homeowners in Davidson County, Metro will provide assistance of up to $3,000 to be used for materials plus up to $2,000 in additional funds for other work necessary to rehab their homes and preserve them as habitable and affordable.
The program is available only to homeowners whose household incomes are at or below 60% of the area median, and who live in homes valued at or below $125,000 in Davidson County. Homeowners will be selected from applicants on MDHA rehab waiting list or from other applicants, who meet all of the eligibility requirements of this program and who would be best served by this program. The program is subject to availability of funds.
